The rest of these top tens...

Enough is enough right? Here's the rest of my "Top Tens of 2009", the big events that I wanted to write about. This blog is somewhat of a journal for me, so I'm just going to quickly document these things and be done! Then I can move on to my most recent BIG EVENT!

#5 Christmas 2009: Christmas was great this year, we had Allie and Hyrum in town and my brother and Rick from Mark's family too. We only get Allie and Hyrum every other year so this was fun to have them here. We did a lot of family activities on both sides: game nights, dinners, parties, presents, Antelope Island, and plenty more. Allie did a great job blogging about this, more photos and stuff here.

Look at all those gifts stacked on the piano, can you even see the piano?

We also announced that we were having a baby GIRL on Christmas Day by having our parents unwrap this little dress! We found out the day before - Christmas Eve

# 4 Trip to Oregon to Visit Allie: In October my mom and I flew out to Oregon to visit Allie, what a great trip! It was here that I told them I was pregnant. Boy were they surprised! You can read all about our trip by going to my sister's blog here.

#3 San Antonio: Mark and I made a trip to San Antonio over Christmas Break. Sound pretty random? Well it was. We were supposed to go there for a wedding, but the wedding didn't happen and our plane tickets were non-refundable because we used frequent flyer miles. So off we went to San Antonio for a few days! It was nice to get away just the two of us - we had been on a lot of family vacations in 2009, and it was great to actually get some sun in the middle of winter. We went to Sea World, The Alamo, Riverwalk, shopping, a great restaurants including an awesome steak house then it was back home. Altogether it was a fun little trip and I'm glad we were "forced" to go.

#2 Hawaii: This definitely makes the top ten list! In July Mark and I went to Hawaii for 10 days with Marcie, Rick, and Carrie. Splitting all the bills 5 ways made this trip actually affordable. We all crammed into a hotel room (Rick slept on the floor on an air mattress) and a little car and made our way all around Oahu. We did SO many things that it would take forever to blog all about it right now. Maybe I'll come back to this one in more detail later, but for now here's a few things we did: Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay, Pali Lookout, Kailua Beach, Peal Harbor, Pineapple Fields, Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, Waimea Beach - we saw our first sea turtle here and followed him for quite some time, Polynesian Cultural Center, dinners at Costco, a LONG walk to church, Turtle Beach, Pounders, Shark's Cove where we got all beat up and scraped, Wa'ahila Ridge Trail hike, Ko Olina, more sea turtles at the Marriott Lagoon, shave ice, and a lot of SUN! We did all the touristy stuff during the first few days then spent the rest of our time at the beach.

Rick was good about posting pictures on Facebook, he even has underwater movies of us and the turtles we swam with!

The Hike

Our Hotel Room, that mini fridge and stove saved us lots of $$$ eating in instead of out
Marriott Lagoon
The amazing view from Diamond Head, I swear you can see the earth curve!

WINDY Pali Outlook
Pearl Harbor Day 1
Another day at the Marriott Lagoon, that's Mark and Rick waving
Pearl Harbor Day 2
Laie Temple and Polynesian Cultural Center
Ha ha! Marcie had to parallel park like this every day on the street. One time it was soooo close and we ended up on the curb instead of the street.

Waimea Bay Beach - our favorite beach (top and bottom)
Great camera Rick! We loved swimming those turtles!

#1 Pregnant! Yep, my number 1 Top Ten of 2009 is the fact that we started our little family. The longer version of this post is next. 2009 was one great year!
